Food Safety Management Systems

Certification of GOST R ISO 22000-2007 is mandatory for all organizations whose activities are connected with the production and distribution of food products at the territory of the Customs Union. Interstate standard is identical to ISO 22000: 2005 " Food Safety Management Systems" that includes requirements for all organizations in the supply chain. Under the current regulatory framework, all such organizations have to be certified by June 1, 2013, but due to the large number of companies involved in the production and turnover of food products, this service remains relevant till the present day. The basis of the standard is the comprehension of the critical importance of minimization of health risks from food at all stages of production.

The standard connects the principles that form the systems of hazard analysis and critical control points establishment, as well as steps for the application of this system, the issues of information, system management and risk control. Standard requirements are harmonized with the requirements of other ISO standards that regulate management systems. Currently, the international standard is extended to an entire family of ISO 22000, which contain requirements for specific types of businesses, such as manufacturers of food and beverages. The aim of developing of ISO 22000: 2006 international standard is to harmonize requirements for the companies involved in the chain of production and turnover of food, which is especially important in the era of globalization.
