How to choose an ISO certification body?

When an organization implements a management system according to one or more ISO management system standards - ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 20000, ISO 13485 - the next step is usually a certification of that management system by a certification body.

If an organization certifies its management system it needs to choose a certification body. Why is it necessary? Certification is the process of providing assurance that an organization meets a set of requirements of the ISO standard. The certification body is an independent third party responsible for the certification process. Organizations use certification bodies to enhance reputation and recognition by potential customers, suppliers, partners.

Can an organization self-certify? Yes, it can claim to be self-certified, but the credibility of that certification cannot be vouched for and trusted. There is no such thing as self-certification.

Many organizations look at the choice of a certification body as a product and look for the right, low price. However, you can't skimp on certification. Why? You may find yourself working with a certification body that has no experience in your field, or has a bad reputation, or is not recognized by your potential partners, customers.

An organization may benefit from working with a certification body like «SMK STANDART», which can be beneficial in building business and business relationships.
